The children in Room 15 often talk about showing kindness as it is one of our school values and this week the children and I have been smothered by the kindness of others. Here are some of the kind things that we have experienced this week (and it's only Tuesday!!!). These things will put endless smiles on all of the children's faces and I know that everyone in Room 15 will continue to pay this kindness forward.
Act of kindness #1
To bring our inquiry topic 'Commotion in the Ocean' to life I put my feelers out on social media to see if there were any people willing to donate fish tank supplies to our classroom. The response was just amazing. An incredibly kind and generous man in the Christchurch community (Ray Harris) has donated a beautiful tank to our classroom - complete with everything we need to set up our very own aquarium. I can't thank Ray enough for this gesture! I will post pictures of the new classroom addition once it is set up and running. As always, parents the door is always open for you to come in and share your child's learning environment - I'm sure this will be a very talked about topic within households in the near future.Act of kindness #2
Ella's grandparents, Cassandra and Joseph, have sent over another envelope from France containing not one, but three postcards for each child in Room 15! The postcards are beautifully written and bring so much joy to the children. They definitely feel very thought of and special. Once again, thank you for your kind words and incredibly kind gesture, Cassandra and Joseph. Safe travels and to keep you smiling Ella has something she would like to say...
