Dog Education

Thank you so much to the Cristchurch City Council's Animal Management team who delivered a fabulous dog education lesson to all the year one children.

We learnt so much about what it means to be a responsible dog owner, how to be safe around dogs, strategies to use if we are confronted by an aggressive dog and also how to safely approach dogs.

A key thing we took away from today was "if a dog's on its own, leave it alone!"

We always ask to pat someone's dog first.
We approach the dog slowly and pat it on the chest.

Ask your child what they can do with their bag to help keep them safe.
