Thank you so much to the Cristchurch City Council's Animal Management team who delivered a fabulous dog education lesson to all the year one children.
We learnt so much about what it means to be a responsible dog owner, how to be safe around dogs, strategies to use if we are confronted by an aggressive dog and also how to safely approach dogs.
A key thing we took away from today was "if a dog's on its own, leave it alone!"
We always ask to pat someone's dog first. |
We approach the dog slowly and pat it on the chest. |
Ask your child what they can do with their bag to help keep them safe. |

What a great opportunity for our children to learn dog safety. Thank you! Carly Armstrong
